Q: im flying to phoenix arizona on a thursday next month on southwest airlines leaving from the burbank CA airport, does anyone know how early i should get there? my flight leaves at 4:50, but i only have one bag and does a cellphone count as a carry on?? please help. thanks :]
A: While the rule of thumb is 2 hours before your flight, consider that Burbank is not as busy as larger airports like LAX so if you give yourself about an hour and a half you should have plenty of time to go through the TSA "B.S." (take off your shoes) and still make your flight. Because most airlines do not allow you to use your cell phone while in flight, simply place it in a carry on bag and don't worry about it.
