Q: My husband was born and raised in the USSR. All of his family speaks Russian and All my family speaks english. The only people who speaks English and Russian is my husband and his mother. On our wedding Day, I received an email in Russian. I could not understand it. Yes I could have my husband translate or my MIL translate, but I don't want to wait till 9pm for him to get home and translate. Is there a program to where you can Write them in English then convert it to Russian. I want to have a relationship with my husbands family, but the Language barrier always gets in the way. help

A: I have the exact same problem. Unfortunately you will have to have someone translate it - the programs we have tried (we tried almost all of them for both russian and Spanish) just don't translate properly. Basically I have learned Russian as I go - it's a difficult language but I got by on a month visit there with little translation in the home - going out was a different story, of course. Try Rosetta Stone cdroms if you decide you want to learn - mine is helping me a lot. Paka
